What’s SUP?
Standup paddling is the world’s fastest growing watersport and some say it will be bigger than windsurfing and kiteboarding put together! It’s already the worlds most popular way to surf, but you don’t need waves to have fun.
People like Lance Armstrong, Pierce Brosnan, Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts, Kelsey Grammer, Kate Hudson, Helen Hunt, Robert Downy Jr, and Jennifer Aniston, have all been filmed on their standup paddleboards and many more people from all walks of life are discovering it every day.
Here are just some the things that make it attractive to a very wide range of people:
- Easy to learn – on the right board, just about anyone can get on and start having fun right away. Kids love it and it’s an excellent way to get them away from the video games. As one of the sport’s pioneer says, “if you can walk, you can standup paddlesurf”.
- Great exercise – it works an amazing number of muscles in the body. Legs, shoulders, arms, stomach, back, and more. After a long day of paddling you are tired all over, not just in specific areas. You can lower your blood pressure, drop excess pounds, and lower your heart rate, all while getting a tan and having a great time. It’s better than any gym!
- Do it anywhere – it’s fun in flat water and in waves. Lakes, rivers, oceans, and even small ponds are fun for training.
Requires no gas, and the board is an investment that will last for many years — nothing to wear out. - Many disciplines – racing, touring, wave-riding, white-water rapids, and freestyle just to name a few.
- Target market – windsurfers, kiteboarders, kayakers, canoe paddlers, surfers, and fitness enthusiasts – it’s much more fun than going to the gym. Did we mention that before? Get into the best shape of your life without even trying!

The “Cruise Control” (formerly the All-Around) series features a rounded nose, single fin, squash tail design that produces a board with an extremely wide range, both on flat water and in the surf.
It’s the number one seller because it does everything well! You can ride waves from knee high, to well over-head and it’s equally comfortable on flat water. The speed and stability will keep even pro-level paddlers happy.
The finish on all of Jimmy’s boards is incredibly durable and each one is meticulously hand polished and flawless — almost too nice to use!
All boards come complete with fin, integrated deck pad, and recessed carry handle to make carrying them to the beach super-easy.
The 11′6 is a popular board for heavier riders and for beginners and rental fleets, while the 11′ and 10′6 boards are for regular to light weight paddlers.

The Jimmy Lewis Albatross long-distance board was created for paddlers who are looking for a purpose-built point to point board which offers a Cadillac-like ride. It is fast, stable, and super smooth on flat water lakes and rivers.
It is easy for anyone to ride — step on and paddle away even if you’re a total beginner!
It tracks very straight making it possible to paddle many strokes before switching sides.
The volume distribution makes this board extra stable even in cross chop. The nose rocker lets the board glide smoothly over swells in down-wind runs and the hard rails in the tail let the board plane on the smallest wave.
Riders of all weights and skill levels will feel comfortable on this board. If you’re looking for a race board for flat water check out the new 12′6″ Slice and the Blade

Jimmy’s new 12′6 Slice race board design is the fastest board to ride in it’s class. The sleek displacement hull has lots of vee in the nose to break up the nastiest chop, and a flat mid-section for speed and stability.
It’s as capable in monster swells as it is on flat water and downwinders are no problem on this board due to the raised nose and flat mid section. It catches waves easily so you can ride the bumps for long periods.
The recessed standing area keeps the center of gravity low for a fast, stable and comfortable ride.
It has great speed for touring long distances and if you want to race, this is the board for you! It’s already a proven winner in 15 races in Florida during the spring and early summer of 2010.
Only master shaper Jimmy Lewis could shape a board with such clean lines and refined curves as seen on this board – its lines are pure beauty and the performance matches its looks.

The Hanalei Surf series standup boards feature a narrower nose and tail shape, with a rounded pintail tri-fin design. This increased outline curve produces a looser board made specifically for riding waves but the larger sizes are also fun and surprisingly fast on flat water. The clean edge release in the tail of the board combined with the 2+1 tri-fin result in a board capable of generating incredible speed down the line.
Heavier paddlers will float easily on the 10′8 and lighter, or experienced surfers will choose the smaller sizes.
